Sometimes it is hard to recognize which kind of garbage it is until the person is skilled. Even though local people gradually know how to sort it, any newcomers to the city will not adapt to this city policy.
My project is to help the residents in our community sort the garbage correctly by telling those who refuse to do it because of laziness and helping the new residents classify each garbage as soon as possible. For the task of telling the harm of not sorting the garbage to those who don't do it because of their indolent personality, you can see my Blog Post 1 through the same entry. This will be focusing on helping people to sort the trashes.
In our community, there are two apartments mainly rented for foreigners. We call it a "Foreigner Corner." The apartments have gardens, western canteen, supermarket all in English, and Blue Frog restaurant beside them. There are many foreigners. Since not every country is enforcing this policy, it is sometimes hard for residents to recognize which classification they come to this city. I will be selling garbage bags with diagrams and a few words on it to help the residents memorize where each trash should be placed.
The diagram for the most common garbage in each kind will be beneficial. And the conclusions are the followings:
Recyclable: Green Bag (Books, plastic box and bottles, cans, newspaper, electronics, and cloth)

Food Waste: Yellow Bag (Remaining of crops, vegetables, fruit, bones from the meals and spices)

Residual Waste: Black Bag (Tissue, drinks bottles from stores, storage bags, glass, home delivery food box)

Hazardous Waste: Red Bag (Battery, thermometer, ink box, light bulb, any liquid chemicals such as detergents and medicines)

The diagrams will be based on the official diagram of Beijing Province. The color of each image will not be the color of the bags, it is different because of the Beijing Province's color. Our community will use our own color to aid residents to associate color of bags with the kind of waste should be in each color.
